The ILN archive has been housed at Mary Evans since a management buyout of the ILN Publishing Group from its former parent company, Sea Containers, in December 2007.
All ILN material that has been scanned is now available for licensing exclusively via the Mary Evans site.
The search resource, which is available on their website, also includes an option to search ILN images only.
The archive includes The Illustrated London News, The Sketch, The Sphere, The Tatler, The Bystander, The Graphic, are all owned by Illustrated London News (ILN), and before they are used commercially in any way, and in any media, permission must first be sought, and a licence for use obtained, from the Mary Evans Picture Library.
If you are a publisher, or a media (television, video or online content provider), then the picture library and archive will prove an invaluable resource.
They currently have more than half a million images online, the large majority of them scanned in high resolution, and new images are being added to the archive at a rate of 500 per week.
